Matt Price and the Caterwaul - Sleepwalking

Matt Price and the Caterwaul - Sleepwalking

I recorded Matt Pricefrom November 2016 until May 2017.
This was a very casual project for both of us as we were dealing with our full-time jobs and our full-time bands.
Matt was looking to do some recording of his solo acoustic songs, and he didn't really have a vision or any thing set in his mind besides the songs structured with lyrics and chords.
During the finishing of vocals, we decided to ramp up the songs by building drums and adding bass, then we also added some electric guitar in too.
When we decided to add full-band parts, we re-recorded the acoustic guitars.
Vocal mics used were a Rode NT-2 and a Blue Spark, both paired with an ART Tube-MP.
I used my Blue Spark to record acoustic guitars as well.
For electric guitar and bass, we ran direct-in with the ART Tube-MP for warmth.

I was very excited to work on this as I had played multiple shows with Matt, and I became a fan of his own music.
I had a lot of fun with this project as I was able to produce all of the parts once the acoustic guitars were recorded.
We worked on harmonies, lead parts, bass parts, and programmed the drums together with Matt making notes on how he wanted the drums to sound.

During the winter of 2017, Matt wanted to record a new song, Deja Vu as well as re-release the EP under a different name.
